Men In Blue Gear Up to Exhibit Impressive Play at Perth against West Indies

india men in blueNew Delhi, Tuesday, March 3 – India and West Indies are gearing up to fight at W.A.C.A. Ground, Perth, on Friday, March 6 – a festive day in the country on the account of Holi. Nothing could be more thriving for the Men In Blue than a triumph against the rivals in the upcoming contest. India have been in good form in the World Cup 2015 that wasn’t expected since they failed to crush Australia in both Test match series and One-Day International contest and England in the tri-series held two months ago.

Continuous failure of Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led Indian team made it get criticism from all around. Cricket experts and the fans were puzzled and not able to comprehend the correct reason behind their consecutive failures in a foreign country. It was known to the world the India had poor record in the overseas as they weren’t able to adjust in the unfamiliar conditions and mood of the pitch, which sometimes supported the bounce and at times helped the batsmen to go for biggies being flat.

Prior to the cricket carnival, many supporters predicted India would anyhow reach into the quarterfinals and might not register win against the strong teams of their Pool. However, something unknown happened that boosted the morale of Indian players, who were keen to make use of every possible change to stay robust during the match. Pressure on Dhoni’s boys against Pakistan was high. Misbah-ul-Haq’s squad was in stress as well but they collapsed in opposition to the arch-rivals. It was certainly cool and composed captaincy of Indian skipper Dhoni and of course the team efforts which made all countrymen be proud of being an Indian.

They kept the winning momentum up at Melbourne Cricket Ground, Melbourne, wherein they faced South Africans’ attack on the field with sheer confidence. In the three face-offs of the previous WC contests, India did not succeed to win any match against the Proteas. Anxiety must be in the mind of each player for the reason that it is not easy to lose a match being a defending champion. The magical performance of both batting and bowling lineups let them inflict a humiliating defeat of 130 runs on South Africa.  Believe it or not, such a humongous win wasn’t at all expected especially when cricketers like David Andrew Miller and the destructive hitter AB de Villiers etc. were in the ‘Playing Xi’. Given that India played as a unit and each member knew his role correctly and did the bit in the best way possible, they smelled and tasted victories. The audience strength was something to applaud for. The ‘sea of blue’ played huge role in taking the confidence of India at the peak. Anyone who saw the match must have gotten confused whether the game was slated abroad or at an Indian ground.

It was practice match for India against the United Arab Emirates on February 28 as they thrashed the opponents by 9 wickets. Indian camp sealed the hat-trick of wins in the ongoing tournament and success story is what they wish in further contests also. The 33-year-old Ranchi guy Dhoni made wiser decisions on more than a few occasions till now and same is expected from him in the next rounds in view of the fact that there may be no coming back if a minor mistake turns irreparable. As they are all set to meet West Indies in Perth after three days, expectations are soaring. The Caribbean team hasn’t been victories in the latest series as they were crushed by Ireland at the Saxton Oval, Nelson, in the beginning. The target of 304 was easily chased by the Irish cricketers in 45.5 overs.

However, on the other hand, terrific performance of Chris Gayle opposite to Zimbabwe enabled his group put a massive score of 372 on the scoreboard. He became the first player to score a double century in the World Cup, an event which gives players a bigger platform to get worldwide recognition within a short span of time. Huge sixes and boundaries from him are adequate to threaten the contenders. It is once again the time for India to think of a strategy so that he could be restricted at the lowest possible score. With only a few more days to go for India vs. West Indies match, viewers are excited to see what comes at the end. It would really be interesting to see whether India keep its winning show on or not. Mohammed Shami, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ravichandran Ashwin, Umesh Yadav and some part-time bowlers proved confidence of their skipper in them right. Batsmen are in good form too. Despite the fact that India are through to next round already with six points, success is eyed further. Let us wait and watch what happens next.
