Fruits Likely to Get Pricier during 9-Day Long Navratri Festival

weightNew Delhi, Wednesday, March 18 – Only three days remain for Navratri to start. The festival is celebrated across the nation with utmost enthusiasm by Hindu devotees. Since many observe fast at this point of time and have only fruits, potatoes, milk, curd, cheese etc, people might have to shell out some extra sums to meet their needs.

According to reports, fruits may be sold at a price that could be a bit up than the regular days. Since the demand of ‘satvik’ products increases and buyers include fruits in a number of forms in diet during Navratri, which is set to fall from March 21 to March 28 this year, hike in rate per kilo & dozen is to be observed.

Bananas which are sold at INR 40 to INR 50 at present by fruit sellers are probable to see a rise of INR 5 to INR 10. Ranges of grapes, oranges, apples and chiku might get pricey too. Same could be the scenario with other stuffs consumed vastly during this period.
