Election Fever to Grip Delhi; Political Parties Expect Positive Outcome

pollsNew Delhi, Wednesday, January 14 – The national capital will go on polls early next month. The bugle for Delhi polls was sounded a couple of days ago by the Election Commission. It is almost a year when Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal resigned post being unsuccessful to table the Jan Lokpal Bill in the Delhi Assembly.

Now, Delhiites are eager to cast their ballot and elect a party that could work in welfare of the common man. The key issues in the city are random increase in the price of household goods, poor law & order, water supply, unauthorized colonies, unemployment, traffic especially in peak hours, power outages, transport facility for the public, education and healthcare.

The major aspect that is sought by every inhabitant of the city is safety for girl child. The horrifying incident of Delhi gang rape is still fresh in everyone’s mind. Rape by Uber cab driver last month added to the fear. Votes will be cast keeping in mind these aforementioned issues as people want the metropolis to be safe and secure for living.

Excitement in 1,72,450 teenagers is up being first time voters. A close contest is anticipated to be witnessed among the candidates of Aam Aadmi Party, Bharatiya Janata Party and the Indian National Congress. If residents’ point of view is to be jotted down then Kejriwal from AAP, Ajay Maken & Arvinder Singh of Congress and Meenaskshi Lekhi, Smriti Irani, Satish Upadhyay & Kiran Bedi of BJP could be in the race for next Delhi CM. BJP is likely to be ahead of and AAP and Congress in the assembly elections thanks to Modi magic.

Voting date for the city is February 7 and counting of votes will be done on February 10. Security in polling booths will be tight as cops would leave no stone unturned to keep an eagle eye on all the activities. Participation of both men and women in the upcoming polls is probable to set new records as they are up for change.
