Dhoni’s Boys Gear Up to Derail Australia in Semi-finals in Sydney

india team 2015New Delhi, Wednesday, March 25 – Sydney Cricket Ground, Sydney, on Thursday, March 26, is going to be jam-packed given that India and Australia have geared up for a contest which will declare the second finalist of World Cup 2015 at the end of the day. The New Zealand have already booked a berth in the grand finale that’s scheduled to take place on Sunday, post thrashing South Africa in Auckland ODI by 4 wickets.

Since two strong contenders are all set to fight with bat and ball tomorrow, nothing less than a nail-biting competition is expected. Some of the Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s team members took proper rest prior to the semi-finals, while on the other hand, a few Australian players did the net practice. It will be interesting to see whether a game played with cool or composed mind & right strategies by the Indians pays off or it would be Australians’ practice under the sun that will help them go ahead in the tournament.

An attention-grabbing contest is on the cards as both the teams do not want to be at the back foot at any cost. For Indians, this the perfect ‘mauka’ to take revenge from Australia that inflicted humiliating defeats in Test and One-Day International matches during late 2014 and early 2015 on them. It is true that Indians used the experience they earned in Australian pitch and made best use of it in the World Cup tournament right from the first match, wherein the faced arch-rivals Pakistan. If the opportunity is exploited in the best way possible further, India will meet New Zealand to fight for the title. If this happens for real then finale would be played between the two playing XIs that remained unbeaten throughout the cricket carnival.

Australia are also eying a victory and intent to revenge against the Men in Blue as they had to fly back home after being beaten at the hands of India in the quarter-finals 4 years ago. Audience is keen to see the next winner in tomorrow’s game. If latest reports are to be trusted then Indian fans are ready to transform Sydney stadium into sea of blue. Rain is predicted and if this happens, the play is likely to be affected as it did on Tuesday in New Zealand vs. South Africa match.
