Cold Waves Make Delhiites to Reel Under Cold Conditions; Trouble Augments for Unfortunates and Stray Animals

winterNew Delhi, Wednesday, January 7– Almost a week ago, it was thick fog cover in the city that created huge trouble for the general public residing in the national capital. Scenario has been changed now in view of the fact that cold waves have worsened normal living in the city these days. Sky is clear from last couple of days and enormous sunshine has made people heave a sigh of relief to a certain extent. However, continuous blowing of the wind right from early morning till late hours compelled populace reel under severe cold conditions. If latest weather reports are to be trusted then the metropolitan city and nearby regions are yet to face the attack of chilly winters.

Operation of domestic and international flights is not likely to get affected any more as it has been a few days ago. Weathermen anticipate partly cloudy sky for the whole week. Maximum temperature is expected to fluctuate in the range of 15 and 16 degree Celsius and minimum temperature in 6 and 7 degree Celsius. Humidity will increase from 43 per cent to 52 per cent thanks to overcast and there wouldn’t be any escape from cold waves that have deteriorated life of the common man living in the city.

Iciness of the waves is so harsh that people find it hard to keep themselves warm even in the sunlight. Homeless and underprivileged persons suffer the most in this day and age. Home shelters of Delhi are reportedly occupied but still hundreds and thousands of homeless are left with no option but to sleep under the open sky and struggle against bone-chilling cold. They sought instant relief which does not come in view at the present.

The level of difficulty has been augmented by freezing gust that incessantly blow throughout the day. Bitter cold has gone brutal for human beings and the stray animals. Finding a shelter to protect themselves from frosty waves has become one of the toughest tasks. Schools are closed up till Jan 10 but if winter shows here severe face then these might remain shut for some more days.

Weather condition is same in most of the cities. No respite for the inhabitants residing in various corners of Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Chandigarh and Haryana is visible. Bad weather is probable to make people reach at desired spot a tad behind the schedule. Spell of snowfall in the mountains will let temperature to dip in Delhi as well. Fog is considered to make visibility poor once again. Situations will only improve after Makar Sankranti festival.
