Capital Gears Up to Celebrate Holi; People Throng Shops to Buy Colors, Sweets

Homemakers are already busy in cooking delicious items for the event. Youngsters are all set to color their buddies in colorful hues. Elderly people have plans to spend memorable day with family and friends.

In totality, attraction in the market and indoors has increased and likely to last till the festive day arrives. Markets of the national capital are flooded with Holi colors and small and big pichkaris, which grab eyeballs for bearing pictures of popular political leaders and celebrities. Herbal gulals are selling like hot cakes and their demand is supposed to remain up thanks to awareness and benefits of avoiding chemical colors among the general public.

Popular areas of the metropolitan city are witnessing enthusiastic buyers, who are approaching florists to keep flowers like cassia fistula, marigold, Acacia Arabica, rose and yellow chrysanthemums in stock, to enjoy Holi with flowers. In the wake of harmful effects of the synthetic colors, residents are spurred to choose eco friendly colors, which may be a bit heavy on their pockets but are extremely safe to applying on skin.

Packets of different colors have been made available in various quantities. Many shopkeepers have introduced some attractive sales to catch the eyes and indirectly compel customers to buy a few things for upcoming festival without splurging. Sweet smell in the air is spread by ‘gujia’.
